Ulterior Motive is a psychological social deduction game where two players enter a live chat match.
Each player secretly chooses whether they want to play as Human or AI.
The audience watches the conversation and tries to determine who is human, who is AI, and who is lying.
Two players join a match.
Each player secretly selects Human or AI.
The players chat.
The audience watches.
The audience votes.
Before revealing, a player must guess whether the other player is Human or AI.
When a player presses Reveal Truth, identities unlock immediately.
Correct reveal guess gives +30. Wrong reveal gives -30 to the revealer and +30 to the other player.
Top players qualify for championship matches.
Reveal Truth is available only after the player pressing it has guessed whether the other player is Human or AI.
Reveal happens immediately. There is no approval wait from the other player.
If the revealer guesses wrong, they lose 30 points and the other player gains 30 points.
